Our team was not originally chosen but got a last-minute opportunity to be a part of the Girls Build competition. Our accomplishment lies in our ability to adapt to strict lockdown measures and remote schooling. Our Girls Be True team stepped it up and made content amongst schoolwork, taking care of family, house chores, and low motivation. Our girls attended Zoom meetings to stay up to date and continued to contribute to Girls Be True's next move!
Like the other teams, our school was quickly asked to go fully online. Our team originally had big plans to make school visits to spread our message about how being yourself online is not only cool, but important! We decided to use the quarantine time to take a more digital approach to our project. We have grown a presence on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok. Our Girls Be True team created positive content like Quarantine Vision Boards for self-care, TikTok challenges, and even original songs. We are very proud of our girls for rising to the occasion during such difficult times.
